In this article, the author outlines health safety concerns related to
hormonal contraceptives (the Pill). She gives a brief history of the pill
beginning with its introduction in 1960 up until 1990. She warns that the
pill is not safe for all women, and provides some categories of women who
should not take the pill because of increased risk for serious illness and death.
