alphabetically as in a general encyclopedia. Explanations of how to use, the
effectiveness, potential side effects, and how different contraceptive methods
(barrier, oral, surgical, natural) work are listed under the entry for each one.
Includes information regarding emergency contraception and abortion techniques.
Also, the encyclopedia includes an index and bibliographic references, and a
listing of pertinent organizations to contact for information regarding women's health.

This encyclopedia is extremely comprehensive and up to date as it is a revised
fourth edition from the year 2000. This encyclopedia also includes detailed entries
on birth control methods and advises that not all methods are appropriate for each
woman. Also it includes informative entries on sexually transmitted diseases and
which methods of birth control are most effective in preventing their transmission.
There is a subject index as well.
