Readings: Plan to speak 2-3 hours a week in reading material relevant to the class each week. Selected readings listed below and in the following weeks have been chosen as being particularly appropos to the topic and to the approach we will take in class. You may substitute other reading if it is relevant. In particular, check out the books on reserve and sample chapters in addition to those listed. I will ask you to provide some reading commentaries periodically to ascertain your choices and reactions.
