  • A great source for comprehensive biographies and relevant web links for over 25,000 individuals. Particularly useful for locating information on famous actors and directors. Searching by keyword allows the user to discover the director for a particular film.
Biography and Genealogy Master Index. Gale Group, Detroit, 2000.
  • A useful starting point for any biographical information, Biography and Genealogy Master Index indexes multiple editions of over 700 current and retrospective biographical reference sources, covering contemporary as well as historical figures. This source is accessible online via UNC.
Current Biography. New York, H.W. Wilson. 1940-current.
  • A general biographical source, which has particularly good coverage of entertainment figures.

  • An excellent source with substantive entries giving biographical, professional, and critical information, with a filmography.

  • Over 13,000 entries for screen personalities, primarily American, British, French and German. Very brief biography including places of birth and death if known, followed by a filmography.
