differences in the motivational concerns perceived in the stories and
the relevance or importance of these concerns in the context of different
jobs. Follow-up on the discussion in your portfolio tonight.

Exercise described on pp. 179-184 of the text. For your portfolio
entry tonight or subsequently: If you are currently
working, take the Communication Climate Inventory from the text and report
your results. (by the way, these concepts apply to a marriage or
parent-child relationship or roommate arrangement as well if you're not
working and want to try the Inventory anyway). Comment on your
experiences with defensive communication and your experiments with active
listening.
