Revised 6/10/2004
The literature on management is rich and varied. General
management texts abound as do books and articles on every conceivable
function of management. Applied management texts are available for almost
every kind of professional work and the library and information science
field is no exception. Below are a select few from this wealth of
material. Consider it a teaser only and explore the topic on your own.
This book has been published
every two or three years in a new edition. The most recent edition
is the 7th edition 2002 but earlier editions are still useful.
See associated website with an extensive bibliography, case studies,
examples of strategic plans, organization charts, job descriptions, and
the like -- lu.com/management/index.html
Foreword to this collection of articles by Leigh Estabrook.
