The following current journals are available in the serials area in the D.H. Hill Library at NCSU. Bound back-issues are available in the stacks by call number.
- Solar Energy: The Official Journal of the International Solar Energy Society. New York: Elsevier Science Ltd., 1957- .
TJ810 .S6
According to the publisher, this is a journal for the application of solar energy in its diverse forms: biomass, heating and cooling, photochemical, photovoltaic, radiation and measurement, solar thermal and wind. It is a refereed journal and considered by Magazines for Libraries to be a premier journal in its field: the range is theoretical to practical, high-tech to low.
- Solar Today. Boulder, CO: Solar Energy Society, 1987-.
TJ809 .S66
Magazines for Libraries says that Solar Today is for everybody. Issues contain a fair portion of articles featuring success stories implementing solar energy, but also include surveying programs for various types of renewable energy. The letters section is extensive, as are the "what's new" groups. Products advertised are as much for the homeowner as for the large-scale contractor. The remainder of the issue is society news, including the conference program venues when relevant.
- Synerjy. New York: Synerjy, 1974-.
TJ163.2 .S97
Magazines for Libraries describe Synerjy as an excellent directory in terms of coverage for the price. It specializes (insists) on renewable energy forms.
Ulrich's OnDisc describes topics covered: solar, wind, biomass, hydropower, and energy storage; reviews books and government publications; reports on conferences, manufacturers, and research groups; and list facilities, manufacturers and distributors.
