These reference tools allow the user to search thousands of journals by simple keyword or subject searches. S/he can then can select results and view the abstract to see if the article pertains to their area of interest.
All of the databases listed below are available from the UNC-CH Library webpage by selecting the "E indexes and databases" link or directly entering: http://library.unc.edu/eid/eresources.html. The databases can be accessed on campus or off campus (instruction link) for students, staff and faculty with a valid PID# (Person ID).Database covers 1970 to present. Over 3 million citations to print and nonprint materials. Covers a wide range of topics from agricultural economics, energy and natural resources, to food science. Again, these citations are primarily scholarly in scope. User must go to Life Sciences link to access database.
Database covers a 52 week cumlative rolling file. Divided into subdatabases: agriculture, biological and environmental sciences; sociological and behavioral sciences; clinical medicine; life sciences; physical, chemical and earth sciences; engineering, computer and technology; and arts and humanities.
Current year plus 5 years prior. Multidisciplinary coverage of relevant fields across environmental sciences. Most journals are academic in scope. Subject search same as Keyword search in Basic and Advanced searching. User must go to General Sciences link to access database.
This database provides abstracts from popular magazines and journal, academic journals and newspapers from 1980 to present. General public users of this pathfinder would find this database particularly useful in finding current interest articles.
Database covers 1980-present. Provides articles from over 5,000 primarily scholarly journals.
Database covers 1988 to present. The majority of journals cited are available at UNC-CH, NCSU, and Duke libraries. Cites more than 6 million articles, with daily updates.
