Bibliographies, Indexes & Abstracts
Bibliographies,
abstracts and indexes are good sources to find other works about George
Cruikshank. They often just include
a citation and a brief summary of the work, but are worth searching if looking
for further information.

Click on the “B” and scroll through the alphabetical list until you

This is “the most
comprehensive art bibliography available worldwide, and extends coverage of its
two predecessor indexes, RAA-Repertoire d’Art et d’Archeologie (1973-1989)
and RILA- International Repertory of the Literature of Art (1975-1989).”
It indexes books, conference proceedings, dissertations, exhibition and
theater catalogs, and articles from over 2,500 periodicals.
It is more comprehensive than the Art Index, another well-known
electronic resource for art-related research.

ART REF N40.A75 1997
This
work is a listing of key sources for each major artist in the history of art.
Under Cruikshank’s entry, he lists 15 of what he feels are the best
sources on Cruikshank. Not only is
this a good source to find more information about Cruikshank, but it is also
good place to go if another artist is discussed alongside Cruikshank, and you
would like to do more reading on him.
