Tenerife, home to El Teide, the tallest peak in Spain, is but one of the many islands that constitute the Canary Islands. Located off the western shore of Africa, Tenerife is filled with both lush tropical and desolate volcanic landscapes, black sand beaches and fantastic views of the other "Fortunate Islands." Speaking of fortune, I felt quite lucky to have had an opportunity to visit such an exotic and beautiful locale.
