If you are in section 605, you are scheduled to meet at 8:00 a.m. in Manning 307. If you are taking the online asynchronous section, 606, you are free to join in with us via zoom if you schedule allows. I will not run the class as a hybrid class, but it will be recorded and all students in either section will be able to access the recording which will be edited and posted by Saturday noon. Some classes will not be recorded. If a class is not recorded, then a prerecorded session, or clearly defined written instructions will be posted and made available to all students in both sessions.

This web site meets the needs for both 605 and 606 Recitations

Zoom Link for 605 (and 606 if you want to listen in)

The 605 Zoom Link is global and not time specific. It works for 605 live recitation Zoom meetings and any office hours meetings.

Recitation Zoom Recordings will migrate to Panopto and will be posted at the top of the page for each session in this site.

Office Hours

info
  • You are welcome to meet with me in 307 Manning, in person, after my Friday 8:00 a.m. class.(Ends at 9:15 a.m.)
  • I only come to campus on Fridays, so if you are available meet via Zoom, we can do that at almost any day, at any time, as long as I don’t already have a commitment.
  • If you need a private meeting with me, and you have a private place to Zoom with me, then Zoom is the best choice.
  • I can arrange a private office on Friday mornings if you need a private, in-person chat, but I need advance notice.

Face–to-Face vs. Online vs. Hybrid

This semester I am teaching one recitation face-to-face and one asynchronously so it is not set up to be a hybrid class. However, I will record the class via Zoom and students from either section may watch the video live via Zoom or later via Panopto.

Depending on the nature of the recitation, I may decide to post a recording that is not a class recording, but will cover all the same material. Regardless of which video I share, any video link that you will need will be posted at the top of a class notes page.

Panopto will serve all my videos

Make sure you can access Panopto Video.

We are going to miss some recitations.

Understand that we may not have recitations for some of our classes due to wellness days or holidays. Instruction for these classes will be available via asynchronous materials and I will be available for office hours via email and/or Zoom if you need help.

Presentation Due at Final

Understand that you must attend the final session and that your presentation is due at your final session for your exam. Students that are in the online asynchronous section will not need to attend an exam session, but will do some peer reviews asynchronously as part of your final exam.

Ignore the Sakai Assignments Due Date for your Presentation

To reiterate again: YOUR PRESENTATION IS DUE by the beginning of your final class. The assignments must have due date, so Dr. Bergquist must put in something for Canvas. This is a limitation of not having multiple due dates for sections in Canvas.

Flexibility and resubmits

I get good reviews for being flexible, but I want you to all understand that if all of you take advantage of my flexibility, I may not have time to get your late projects graded by the Connect Carolina deadline. If you feel like things are spinning out of control, then it is best to reach out in advance.
