The Abstracts and Indexes listed are available through the UNC-CH Libraries’ Home Page by clicking on “Article Databases and More.” The sources can be accessed from the UNC campus or off-campus with a UNC-CH PID.

WorldCat is a general catalog holding more than 39 million records from the electronic holdings of several thousand libraries. It contains bibliographic records for books, dissertation, journals, and audio-visual materials. In the Advanced Search Mode, keyword search “wine” and “appreciation” to find information.

Expanded Academic ASAP is an index that includes abstracts or references for more than 1,500 scholarly, trade, and general interest publications. It covers a wide range of topics including law, history, psychology, humanities, current events, sociology, and general sciences. Full-text is given for many titles. Conduct an advanced search and keyword search with the terms “wine” and “appreciation” or “wine” and “social aspects” for some interesting citations/full-text information.

LexisNexis Academic covers general, regional, and international news. Many of the files are in full-text. Subject headings include journalism, mass communication and newspapers. Conducting a Quick News Search using the term “wine” will tell you what is being said about wine in the news.
