OK IMAP is good but….
ISP support for IMAP is poor and your school district might want to give students (who are mobile) access to email. What can you do?
Last alternative is to use a Web based email solution.
- Some LAN based email products now have this as an option. People use a Web browser to get to their mail.
- If that isn’t possible you could use one of the “free” Web based email services.
