Arcot Rajasekar

Arcot (Raja) Rajasekar is Director of Research and Technology at the Data Intensive Cyber Environments Center (DICE Center) and a professor in the School of Library and Information Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is chief scientist for data grid technologies at the Renaissance Computing Institute (RENCI).

An internationally recognized expert, he is currently the principal investigator for a National Science Foundation grant to study Big Data - DataBridge - A Sociometric System for Long-Tail Science Data Collections.

He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park; an M.S. in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras; and a B.E. in Electronics and Communication from the University of Madras.
