CG: They did redo the front, and it had old asbestos shingles on the outside of it. They took those off and put the new sidin', which is sort of similar to what it used to be, 'cause it was just... Actually the store was built out of um, the house that my grandmother and her family lived in on a place called Hog Island.
FW: Really? They just converted it?
CG: Uh huh. Which is sorta-it's still there, but it's sorta, like, if you're going to Cedar Island. I don't know if y'all come that way or not, but it's like off to the left of Cedar Island, and-used to be a island sorta similar to Ocracoke, and-well, it started happening to that what happened to Portsmouth, sorta just deteriorating and... He moved his family over here, and they took what wood and stuff they could from the house and stuff and everything and built the store out of it.
