Meeting the Mailboat (MB, African American Female, b. 1904, Ocracoke, NC; member of the only African American family who are long-term residents of Ocracoke in the past 130 years)

FW: WWDid you go meet the mail boat when it would come?
MB: I wouldn't, but some of the other people would meet the mail, a lot of people on island would meet the mailboat when it useta come. Useta have the mail boat bring the mail in, useta be a post office on the other side of the creek but it's not there anymore. Carry mail to, people useta go and meet the mailboat, down to the waterfront.
