Course Description

A hands-on approach to developing grant writing skills for information professionals with some examination of the similarities and differences between grantwriting and fundraising. All aspects of proposal development are considered -- idea generation, identification of potential funding sources, writing letters of inquiry, working on each of the elements in a proposal: problem statement, work plan, resource plan, evaluation and dissemination methods, and budget. Peer and self-evaluation are required. As a LEEP class, interaction among students and instructor will be via the Internet.
