4. February 1 Audience Analysis (Who are the learners? What is useful knowledge about them?).
Trainer Styles. Instructional Objectives -- cognitive and affective.
  Read ACRL. Objectives for Information Literacy Instruction; A Model Statement for Academic Libraries. Jan. 2001. Also begin your exploration of websites relevant to the class and select a book (from Reading or Reserve list or one of your own choice) for examination and discussion.
5-6. February 15
Workshop class
Presentations. Stress on Objectives and Feel for Audience. Lesson plan redesign. Read Chapter 4 of the text on Teaching in Large Groups. Continue your web exploration and free reading.
7. February 22 Discussion of all day workshop -- what worked and what didn't. Review of Kuhlthau's research on student approach to research process. Discussion of Information Literacy as a curriculum for undergraduate students. Overview of librarian conversion to instructor -- "Joy of Learning".  .

8. March 1 Review of Lesson Plan Assignment. Evaluation Criteria for lesson plan and for presentation. Use of Teaching/Learning Aids. Introduction to impersonal methods of providing learning opportunities for students -- tutorials, websites, handouts. Chapters 4 and 10 of text.
