— Credits cannot be more than 6 years old at the time of the completion of the
degree.
- British
Columbia — Accepts transfers if the program is deemed to be equivalent to an
ALA accredited program.
- Dalhousie
and Toronto — Accepts courses taken outside North America that are equivalent
to Dalhousie courses.
- Emporia
— Students must show transfer is appropriate and helpful toward programs and
taught by qualified professor. Must be approved by the Dean.
- Florida
State, Louisiana State — Transfer is not automatic and is based on the
provision of the syllabi and instructor review. Decisions are made on a
case-by-case basis.
- Indiana
— Allows credit for the MIS program but not the MLS program.
- Iowa
— Allows transfer of limited number of courses from the University of Northern
Iowa.
- Missouri
— Accepts credits on elective course work only with official transcripts.
- North
Carolina - Greensboro — Approval required by advisor and chair.
- Pittsburgh
— Students must petition. The decision will be made by the Admissions and
Review Committee based on the student's career plan.
- Southern
Mississippi — Courses must be approved by SLIS and the Graduate School.
- Toronto
— Accepts non-North American courses.
- Wayne
State — Accepts credit from programs that are NCATE/AASL approved programs.
- Wisconsin
– Madison — Accepts credits on a case-by-case basis.
- Wisconsin
– Milwaukee — Requires approval from course instructors, advisors, and SLIS
faculty council.
