Browsing a library's electronic catalog (OPAC) is often how patrons begin their search for information. Here are some Library of Congress subject headings to try as retrieved from the UNC OPAC for Davis library. When searching type in the subject words and make sure you search by "subject" heading (default is "keyword" which retrieves different results). The good thing about LC headings are their "see also" links. These links are active within the OPAC and allow users to search/retrieve other titles cataloged in different subject areas.
LC Subject Headings
Meditation -- Zen Buddhism
Zen Buddhism
Sotoshu
Another good browse strategy once you have located a few titles of interest from the OPAC is to wander the stacks themselves. Here are the call numbers that are worth browsing. They can be found on the third floor of Davis.
LC Call numbers
BQ 9250 - BQ 9800 (Mostly Zen -- best area)
All BQ numbers - Buddhism (worth scanning as Zen books are sometimes cataloged under general Buddhism numbers)
BL 1400 - BL 1500 (Some Zen Meditation titles)
