Below are listed many of the more well-known cheesecake girls , as well as some contemporary models. Because some of the models have fallen so far into obscurity, I have simply listed their names in the hopes that you will be able to find more information about them than I have. There are websites listed where available that will help you find out more about each of the models.

Chelo Alanso (Isabella Garcia) -- Alonso was a Cuban-born dancer/actress who was little known in the United States. Her exotic appeal made her irresistible to fans, who knew her as the “Cuban H-Bomb”.

Virginia Bell -- Aka Virginia “Ding-Dong” Bell

Betty Blue

Iris Bristol -- Bristol was from Birmingham, England and made her way to California in the 1950s.

Betty Brosmer
Unlike many other glamour models of the 50s, Brosmer chose to stick to modeling rather than acting in films. At one point in the height of her career in the 50s, she was the highest paid pin-up model in the United States. She always turned down jobs that involved more than just “innocent” cheesecake shots. Today, she works as a model and writer with her husband, fitness magazine publisher Joe Weider, and is a role-model for fitness and health in later age.

Gwen Caldwell -- Little can be found about Gwen Caldwell’s pin-up career. We do know that she appeared in movies like “Son of Sinbad” (1955), “Ten Tall Men” (1951), “Tarzan and the Slave Girl” (1950), and “Two Tickets to Broadway” (1951). She also played in “Loving You” with Elvis in 1957.

Jeanne Carmen -- Carmen has always been known as a kiss-and-tell kind of girl. She was very vocal about all of her affairs as well as her friendship with Marilyn Monroe.

Lilly Christine

Mara Corday
-- Unlike so many other pin-up models, Corday was neither buxom nor blond. She was said to personify "natural beauty".

Jane Dolinger

Vikki "The Back" Dougan
-- Information is not currently available.

Anita Ekberg
-- Ekberg came to the United States from Sweden in the early 50s. She was nicknamed “The Iceberg” as a play on her name and in reference to her cool European demeanor

Eve Ellis -- Image courtesy of www.sheafoley.com

Eve Ellis
Eve Ellis is a contemporary pin-up model who manages her own career in modeling, acting, and dancing. She describes herself as a "work-a-holic" and loves business, technology, and art. She maintains her own website (www.eveellis.com) which does contain some graphic material given that she is primarily a fetish model.

Betty Grable
-- Betty Grable posed for one of the most widely recognized pin-up shots from the WWII era. Click on the link below to see it.

Mickey Jines
-- Information is not currently available.

Bonnie Logan

Julie London
-- London is actually better-known for her music. Her smoky voice made her a very popular lounge singer.

Tina Louise
-- That's right, Ginger from Gilligan's Island was a pin-up model before she hit it big.

Jayne Mansfield
Despite having an IQ of 163, Mansfield was never quite able to rid herself of the "dumb blond" image the public seemed to want to associate with her image. She pulled many outrageous publicity stunts during her day, including "stranding" herself on a desert island. While in the 50s she seemed to be extravagance and decadence personified, she never found the same fame and success as her counterpart, Marilyn Monroe.

Sandra Marnelle

Irish McCalla -- Image courtesy of www.javasbachelorpad.com

Irish McCalla
McCalla became a cult television icon because of “Sheena, Queen of the Jungle”, in which she always performed her own stunts. Before "Sheena", she was one of the most famous post-war pin-up models and a favorite of artist Alberto Vargas. After her film career, she devoted herself to painting; later she formed McCalla Enterprises, Inc. and was a member of the organization Women Artists of the American West.

Eve Meyer
Eve Meyer's talent in the business field kept her from settling for a glamour model's life. Eve actually married Russ Meyer (glamour photographer and esteemed dirty old man) and took over the business/distribution side of his movie business. She helped in the production of "Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill!" and it is thanks to her that today he still owns the rights to the movies he made.

Jackie Miller

Marilyn Monroe
-- Today, she is still the pop culture icon she was in the height of her career, when she was considered to be the epitome of sex appeal.

Cleo Moore

Rita Moreno

Meg Myles

Julie Newmar
-- Cat Woman. We all know her. We all love her.

Bettie Page -- Image courtesy of www.bettiepage.com Bettie Page
Page was born into poverty in Tennessee and at a very young age accepted the responsiblities of caring for her five siblings. At the age of ten she was put into an orphanage along with two of her sisters. Page is now one of the few pin-up models of the past to have a name associated with her face today. She was one of the most charismatic models in the business, her expressive face the dream-come-true of photographers (i.e., Irving Klaw, Bunny Yeager, etc.) and the envy of many of her fellow models.

June Palmer

Shirley Quimby
-- Information is not currently available.

Virginia Rodgers
-- Information is not currently available.

Jane Russell
-- Russell's career after modeling led her to be active the development of adoption programs and child welfare legislation.

Lili St. Cyr
-- St. Cyr was a Burlesque dancer for most of her career, which started in typical burlesque halls and eventually moved to the stage in Vegas. Some of her most famous pin-up work was done by Bernard of Hollywood, who referred to St. Cyr as his muse.

Norma Sykes (Sabrina)

Greta Thyssen
-- Thyssen was originally from Copenhagen, Denmark. She left there for the US after she was crowned Miss Denmark 1951.

Mamie Van Doren
Van Doren was born Joan Lucille Olander in South Dakota to a farming family in 1931. She has become something of a pop culture icon and now has her own website, through which she continues her modeling career (despite being over 70 years old today!) and hopes to “[recapture] the innocence of the pin-up era”. She has outlived her blond counterparts of the same era (Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield) because she made a decision to stop taking drugs, drinking, and partying all night (a decision she says her counterparts did not make). Her autobiography is called Playing the Field: My Story.

Diane Webber -- Image courtesy of www.javasbachelorpad.com Diane Webber (aka Marguerite Empey, Diane Marguerite)
At a time in U.S. history when nudism seemed to be an open joke (namely, the 1950s), Diane Webber was an openly devoted nudist who publicly defended the lifestyle on a number of occasions. So dedicated was she to the nudist lifestlye that she wrote a book (although it is now difficult to find) about nudism and her family called "Those Wonderful Webbers".

Evelyn West

June Wilkinson

Bunny Yeager
When Bunny Yeager was a pin-up model, she always designed her own swimsuits and photo shoot outfits. She attempted to begin a business with her designs but later became interested in glamour photography. By the mid-50s she was one of the most admired glamour photographers around. She worked a lot with Bettie Page and was the first to send Page's photos to Playboy, which featured Page as Playmate-of-the-Month in January, 1955.
