Models |
Below are listed many of the more well-known cheesecake girls , as well as some contemporary models. Because some of the models have fallen so far into obscurity, I have simply listed their names in the hopes that you will be able to find more information about them than I have. There are websites listed where available that will help you find out more about each of the models.

Tickets to Broadway” (1951). She also played in “Loving You”
with Elvis in 1957.

Carmen has always been known as a kiss-and-tell kind of girl. She was very vocal
about all of her affairs as well as her friendship with Marilyn Monroe.

buxom nor blond. She was said to personify "natural beauty".

right, Ginger from Gilligan's Island was a pin-up model before she
hit it big.
Jayne Mansfield Despite having an IQ of 163, Mansfield was never quite able to rid herself of the "dumb blond" image the public seemed to want to associate with her image. She pulled many outrageous publicity stunts during her day, including "stranding" herself on a desert island. While in the 50s she seemed to be extravagance and decadence personified, she never found the same fame and success as her counterpart, Marilyn Monroe. Eve
Meyer Eve Meyer's talent in the business field kept her from settling for a glamour model's life. Eve actually married Russ Meyer (glamour photographer and esteemed dirty old man) and took over the business/distribution side of his movie business. She helped in the production of "Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill!" and it is thanks to her that today he still owns the rights to the movies he made. in the height of her career, when she was considered to be the epitome of sex
appeal.
Cleo Moore
Rita Moreno
Meg Myles
Julie Newmar -- Cat
Woman. We all know her. We all love her.
Bettie Page Page was born into poverty in Tennessee and at a very young age accepted the responsiblities of caring for her five siblings. At the age of ten she was put into an orphanage along with two of her sisters. Page is now one of the few pin-up models of the past to have a name associated with her face today. She was one of the most charismatic models in the business, her expressive face the dream-come-true of photographers (i.e., Irving Klaw, Bunny Yeager, etc.) and the envy of many of her fellow models. was crowned Miss Denmark 1951.
Mamie
Van Doren Van Doren was born Joan Lucille Olander in South Dakota to a farming family in 1931. She has become something of a pop culture icon and now has her own website, through which she continues her modeling career (despite being over 70 years old today!) and hopes to “[recapture] the innocence of the pin-up era”. She has outlived her blond counterparts of the same era (Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield) because she made a decision to stop taking drugs, drinking, and partying all night (a decision she says her counterparts did not make). Her autobiography is called Playing the Field: My Story. For more information, also see: http://www.bombshells.com/gallery/van_doren/mamie_bio.php http://www.mamievandoren.com |
Diane Webber
(aka Marguerite Empey, Diane Marguerite) At a time in U.S. history when nudism seemed to be an open joke (namely, the 1950s), Diane Webber was an openly devoted nudist who publicly defended the lifestyle on a number of occasions. So dedicated was she to the nudist lifestlye that she wrote a book (although it is now difficult to find) about nudism and her family called "Those Wonderful Webbers". Bunny
Yeager When Bunny Yeager was a pin-up model, she always designed her own swimsuits and photo shoot outfits. She attempted to begin a business with her designs but later became interested in glamour photography. By the mid-50s she was one of the most admired glamour photographers around. She worked a lot with Bettie Page and was the first to send Page's photos to Playboy, which featured Page as Playmate-of-the-Month in January, 1955.
