FTP - File Transfer Protocol
Does what it says, transfers files between computers on the Internet. Files can be transferred between PCs, Macs, Unix, other.
- Just because we can transfer a file doesn’t mean it is useful though! I.e. What would a Unix person do with a Microsoft Word file?
FTP is client/server which again means you have your choice in FTP clients.
Clients therefore vary in their interfaces, some GUI based, and some command based
