What do you do with a “disk on a wire”
Install applications and run them off the server.
- Single install point, may be easier to setup software for multiple users, may reduce demands for disk space on each client
- But…can also add complexity to the install process, increases network traffic, adds a single point of failure, with Windows it may not reduce the amount of install work you need as you might have to touch each PC anyway, and modern machines tend to have large disks anyway, so saving space may not be crucial
