June 14   Welcome to the marketing course. I hope we all can learn and have fun doing it as we zip through our fast and short summer session.

Before coming to class on Monday, the 18th, please

  • look through the syllabus and the various related links,
  • buy the textbook and read introductory material and Chapter 1,
  • fill out the student information form,
  • tell a bit about yourself on the class listserv (once Scott Barker sets one up for us and
  • check out the assignments especially the Market Audit assignment. Be thinking (and even writing) about an organization you might like to analyze for this assignment.

Don't worry if you don't discover this note in timely fashion and don't get it all done, you'll be able to catch up easily as we go through these things on the first day. It is a compressed summer course so we will all be working hard to learn as much as we can in the time available. The assignments are not set in stone and if the class wants to do something a bit different, I'm open to change.

I look forward to seeing you in Seattle next week.
