FUNDING SOURCES ASSIGNMENT

This is an elaboration of the assignment to search for funding sources due June 24. Use the Funding Sources web page to help you in your search, but don't neglect the print sources as well.

Please create a web page entitled "Funding Sources for ..." For the elipsis substitute the context you are are using, e.g. small public library in Illinois, medium-sized academic library in Alaska, elementary school library in Illinois, community agency in Chicago, or whatever.

All students should identify one good private source and one good public source for the subject area or clientele affected by your grant idea. Indicate your grant subject area (and clientele if relevant) and list the two sources that seem to be the most viable sources for the grant. Provide a little information about each source including the contact information and why you think it is a good match for your interests.

In addition to the above, if you are taking the course for one credit, please add some additional sources not necessarily subject related that might be good possibilities for future grants. For example, find 2-3 private funding sources (foundations, local businesses, etc. that you think might be good sources for your present or for future grant proposals. List them on your web page with the URL link if there is one. (Local businesses may not have a link but are still good sources). For each source you list, provide a little information about it including contact information and indicate why you think it is a good one to track.

Also please also find 2-3 additional public funding sources in the same way. Look for both national and state sources. As you did for the private sources, provide URLs if available and some information and reasons for including.

For all students: please send me an email with the search strategies you used to complete the assignment and the URL where your funding sources may be found. The SiteEdit facility is available to you to create your web page on the leep server.

This assignment may be done as a team or individually.
