LIS 450RRL: GRANTWRITING AND FUNDRAISING

EVALUATION AND DISSEMINATION PLANS

Criteria for Evaluation

Summer 2001

The six statements provided below reflect the criteria that I will use to evaluate and grade the sixth assignment -- evaluation and dissemination planning. You continue to have the option of sending me your assignment of your work using this criteria. The same five point scale will be used, where:

1 = Outstanding (beyond my expectations)

2 = Very Good (superior work)

3 = Good (perfectly satisfactory – equivalent to B)

4 = Acceptable but Needs Improvement (will be accompanied by some suggestions for ways to make the next assignment better)

5 = Unsatisfactory (will be returned with request to redo).

Criteria

An evaluative method is described for each of the (possibly revised) objectives for your proposal. A method to assess the overall impact of the total project is also included.

The methods of collecting data measure the target population(s) and the ways the project will benefit them. The estimated time and materials expense for evaluation is reasonable relative to the overall scope of the project.

The results of the evaluation will be useful to project staff, to administrators, to funders, and to the general public (if each of these groups are applicable) in making decisions about continuing, extending, replicating, or using services from the project.

The target groups for dissemination activies are defined and the message to be conveyed to each group is described.

Choices of media, message, and target group for the dissemination activities are a good match.

The dissemination and evaluation sections are succinct. Responsible staff are identified. The scope of the dissemination and evaluation efforts is appropriate to the size of the project.
