AssignmentsChapter 20 on managing change continues the discussion of organizational issues that conclude your textbook. We have journeyed from a concentration on you as an individual in the beginning of the course, to a consideration of you as a member of a group, and finally to you as a member of a larger organization. The topic of change, resistance to change, and the leader's role in moving the organization will be familiar with you I'm sure but you may still find some useful ways of thinking about change in this chapter. You have only one task to do this week. If you are behind on any of your postings, this will be a good week to catch up as the end of the course is nearing. Task 28: Change and the OrganizationFor the organization you selected for your analysis last week, take the quiz on pp. 467-469 rating your organization on its readiness to change based on 17 aspects. Report your total score for your organization and identify elements that you gave a high score (3 points) and ones that you gave a low score (1 point). Select one area where you think your organization should change and design a plan to accomplish it using the steps outlined in your text. Where do you foresee resistance will come. Can you suggest any techniques that will reduce the resistance? Summarize your response in a brief paper and post it to the Organizational Aspects forum on or before April 29. Entitle your posting "Task 28 - Change and the Organization." Week 15 |
