This page list summaries of the major bioinformatics programs that are currently operating in the United States. The first summary was initially compiled for a panel presentation at the 2002 American Society of Information Science and Technology (ASIST) Annual Meeting. It is was revised in July 2003 and April 2004 for an article in the bioinformatics special topics issue of JASIST. It is maintained and continually updated by Brad Hemminger at the School of Information and Library Science (SILS) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
