An interview with Betty Ballew

Betty Ballew grew up in the North Fork valley that was flooded by the Asheville watershed. She was among the local citizens outraged when the Asheville-Buncombe Watershed Authority began clearcutting watershed forests in 1987. Ballew was determined to protect her beloved North Fork from what she saw as terrible abuse. She became active in CACAW and helped turn the tide against timber harvesting on watershed property.
