Jewel Ward
doctoral student

Welcome!

My name is Jewel Ward and I am a fourth-year PhD. student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the School of Information and Library Science. My advisor is Dr. Helen Tibbo. I am a Research Assistant for NC-DICE and, as part of that, work with the H.W. Odum Institute for Research in Social Science.

Research Interests

An analyst by nature, my research interests include the transfer, management, stewardship, preservation, and curation of (usually, "big") data and information for use and re-use. I am particularly interested in data transfer protocols such as the OAI-PMH and preservation data grids using iRODS.
