GOALS:

To become familiar with the Superintendent of Documents (SuDocs) classification system,
and the arrangement of publications in the Documents Stacks in the basement.
To give you experience using print and electronic sources to access general federal publications,
and federal legislative publications

INSTRUCTIONS

For questions 3-15, List your answer and the letter of source you used.
Look at the sources used on this worksheet. For print: look at the preface, contents, indexes, etc.
For web sources: note Search Tips, Help sections, Types of searches: basic, advanced, etc.
Answer all questions. For Internet sites: "The site was down," is not an acceptable answer. You need to try again. Some of these sites may be busy/slow in the afternoon hours, during the week.
"Cite" on this worksheet means author (personal or corporate, like U.S. Dept. of State), title, date,
SuDoc number (if available) or any other numbers, H.R., S., Srpt, etc.

The North Carolina Zoo is planning a polar bear display. The Zoo must follow regulations of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. Planning officials at the zoo are trying to determine the size of the "dry resting and social activity area" part of the display. There will be 3 bears in the display. (1) How many square feet will the resting/social activity area need to be to accommodate the bears? (2) List the Title,Chapter and part where these regulations can be found.; b. There are some restrictions on travel to Cuba by U.S. residents. A group of students in the UNC-CH Latin American Studies program want to visit Cuba next summer for educational purposes.
