Development I built a series of nine cross-curriculum learning modules for nursing students. These were designed to provide basic knowledge and skills without redundancy. The development time was compressed, and some of the design decisions (like the use of frames) were out of my hands. The contact for this project was Mark Koyanagi. Some representative modules (note that these are password protected; I have secured permission to post access instructions here. The userid is web and the password is n226):The Bolin Creek Cohousing site is intended to provide general information to the public and more specific information to prospective members participating in the design process. Since the project is mildly controversial in the surrounding neighborhoods, it was critical to present the content in a positive and approachable way. The contact for this project was Giles Blunden. The CHIC (Cardiovascular Health in Infants and Children) site is informational, and designed to serve both research peers and study participants. The CHIC principal investigator asked for a light, standards-compliant site that her nursing assistants could maintain. I redesigned the user interface and site architecture, coded it, and developed the logo and images. The contact for this project was Dr. Joanne Harrell. The Bloom lab is a molecular biology facility specializing in chromosome and spindle dynamics. I was asked to build a simple site that a lab staff-member could maintain and update. The principal audience for the site is other cell biologists, and the site mixes irreverent humor with hard data. I coded the site, designed the logo and interface, and wrote the initial copy. The contact for this project was Dale Beach. Systems and Policy Analysis I led the evaluation and redesign of the video lending library system of the Duke-UNC Institute of Latin American Studies. The contact for this project was Sharon Mujica. Weaver Street Market is a community-owned grocery store in Carrboro, NC. I conducted a security audit of their network and facility, resulting in a number of technical and policy changes. This document was written for the technical services manager. The contact for this project was Scott Morningstar This policy analysis illustrates my knowledge of, and sensitivity to, electronic privacy and its relation to Internet commerce. Writing and Game Design I have a personal interest in strategy and role-playing games, both computer and table-top. My game-related work (amateur and professional) can be found here. |
