Most of my work falls to some extent in the area of machine learning, adaptive systems, personalization, relevance feedback, and decision making. Most of my systems are adaptive and I tend to use formal machine learning and decision making techniques in my work.

Most recent articles in the area:

• "Browsing Mixed Structured and Unstructured Data," Information Processing & Management. Accepted for publication (2005). (Discusses how mixed relational databases and unstructured data, like text, images, audio, can be adaptively organized to maximize utility for users, particularly for display)

Other related work that involves adaptive techniques includes work on retrieval, natural language processing, and organizing information.
