Liberty Parodies in Art

Artists such as Hudson Talbott and T. F. Chen have incorporated the Statue of Liberty motif as a central theme in their artwork. There have been copious cartoonists, potters, quilters, sculptors, etc. who have done the same.

Below are 5 of the 100 parodies of Liberty that artist T. F. Chen painted to commemorate Miss Liberty's centennial (1986). Chen, born in China, became a U. S. citizen the same year--obviously he's happy to be one!

See if you can guess which artists' styles were borrowed for these paintings before doing the mouse-over.
