Graduate Grading Scale

H (95-100) "clear excellence", above and beyond what is required

P (80-94) entirely satisfactory

SILS recognizes subtle levels of "satisfactory" since most grades tend to cluster here.

P+ (91-94) all requirements satisfied at highest quality

P (85-90) all requirements satisfied at entirely acceptable, above average level

P- (80-84) requirements satisfied

L (70-79) low passing

F (< 70) failed

IN work incomplete (only given under extreme circumstances, such as serious illness)
 
 

Undergraduate Grading Scale
A (91-100) highest level of attainment

B (81-90) high level of attainment

B+ (88-90)

B- (81-84)

C (71-80) adequate level of attainment
C+ (78-80)

C- (71-74)

D (61-70) minimal passing level of attainment

F (<60) failed, unacceptable performance

IN work incomplete (only given under extreme circumstances, such as serious illness)

AB student did not take final exam, but had a passing grade to that point

FA student did not take final exam, and had a failing grade to that point

PS passing grade for Pass-Fail grading
