- DARIAH, Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities
- DARIAH’s mission is to facilitate long-term access to, and use of all European arts and humanities data for the purposes of research. DARIAH is the digital research infrastructure that will connect scholarly data archives and repositories with cultural heritage for the arts and humanities across Europe.
- Data Portability Project
- Data portability is the ability for people to reuse their data across interoperable applications. The DataPortability Project works to advance this vision by identifying, contextualizing and promoting efforts in the space.
- Dryad Repository
- Dryad is a repository of data underlying scientific publications, with an initial focus on evolutionary biology and related fields. Dryad will allow future investigators to validate published findings, explore new analysis methodologies, repurpose the data for research questions unanticipated by the original authors, and perform synthetic studies such as formal meta-analyses.
- Dryad Wiki
- Dryad @ MRC
- Gateway to Scientific Data
- The Gateway to Scientific Data aims to improve access to scientific research data for Canadians and support the use and re-use of data sets by providing a central gateway, as well as resources to guide data management activities. A project of The National Research Council’s Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information (NRC-CISTI).
- Knowledge Network for Biocomplexity Repository
- The Knowledge Network for Biocomplexity (KNB) is a national network of repositories providing an efficient way to discover, access, interpret, integrate and analyze complex ecological and environmental data from a highly-distributed set of field stations, laboratories, research sites, and individual researchers. Current data holdings originate from over 200 field stations and laboratories and have a global distribution.
- The KNB network uses the Metacat metadata and data management system to link network nodes
- Marine Metadata Interoperability project
- Promoting the exchange, integration and use of marine data through enhanced data publishing, discovery, documentation and accessibility.
- Open Data Commons
- The home of a set of legal ‘tools’ to help you provide and use open data.
- Open Library Environment Project
- With support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, a multinational group of libraries is developing the design for an Open Library Environment (OLE), an alternative to the current model of an Integrated Library System. The goal is to produce a design document to inform open source library system development efforts, to guide future library system implementations, and to influence current Integrated Library System vendor products.
- Open Repository
- Open Repository is a service from BioMed Central to build, launch, host and maintain institutional repositories for organisations. Built upon the latest DSpace repository software the service has been designed to be flexible and cost-effective. BioMed Central's economy of scale makes it possible for organisations that could not otherwise afford to, or lack the infrastructure or technical capacity in-house to run their own repositories.
- Registry of Standard Biological Parts
- The Registry is a collection of ~3200 genetic parts that can be mixed and matched to build synthetic biology devices and systems. Founded in 2003 at MIT, the Registry is part of the Synthetic Biology community's efforts to make biology easier to engineer. It provides a resource of available genetic parts to iGEM teams and academic labs.
- Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition
- SPARC's focus is to stimulate the emergence of new scholarly communication models that expand the dissemination of scholarly research and reduce financial pressures on libraries.
- Science Commons
- Science Commons designs strategies and tools for faster, more efficient web-enabled scientific research. SC identifies unnecessary barriers to research, craft policy guidelines and legal agreements to lower those barriers, and develop technology to make research, data and materials easier to find and use.
- Scientific Observations Network (SONet)
- SONet is a multi-disciplinary, community-driven effort to define and develop the necessary specifications and technologies to facilitate semantic interpretation and integration of observational data.
- STERNA (Semantic Web-based Thematic European Reference Network Application)
- The contribution of twelve European natural history museums and other institutions that collect and hold content on biodiversity, wildlife and nature in general, to the objectives and realisation of a European Digital Library. The project specifically addresses the many small cultural heritage institutions and content providers that want to actively participate and contribute to the European Digital Library initiative but lack both technical skills and financial resources to do so.
- SWORD
- SWORD is a lightweight protocol for depositing content from one location to another. It stands for Simple Web-service Offering Repository Deposit and is a profile of the Atom Publishing Protocol (known as APP or ATOMPUB).
