Rules and regulations
Make your visit a safe and rewarding experience. Some of our regulations are posted for the protection of our visitors and our park. A complete list is available at the park office.

Carts and wagons are prohibited on passenger ferries due to space and weight limitations. Passenger conveyance devices, such as strollers and wheelchairs, are allowed.

The removal of any plant, animal, rock or mineral is prohibited.

The park is a wildlife preserve. Hunting or trapping is not permitted. Loggerhead sea turtles are protected by law.

Place trash in proper receptacles. State law requires aluminum cans to be placed in a recycling container.

Firearms and fireworks are not permitted.

The possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited.

Campfires are not permitted on Bear Island.

Cooking is allowed on grills or stoves provided by park visitors.

Pets must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet. Animals are not allowed on the ferry or in the swimming area.

Camping is allowed in designated areas by permit only.
