Falls Lake State Recreation Area, which consists of seven individual parks, is located at Falls Lake in Wake and Durham counties, approximately 10 miles north of Raleigh and 12 miles east of Durham.

Map to Falls Lake

Park Office/Information Center

The Falls Lake State Recreation Area park office is located on NC 50 one mile north of the intersection of NC 98 just before the bridge over the lake. Street address: 13304 Creedmoor Road/NC 50, Wake Forest, NC.

Traveling west on I-40 or US 64 toward Raleigh, take I-440 (the beltline) north to US 1. Follow US 1 north to NC 98 at the town of Wake Forest. Take NC 98 west approximately eight miles to NC 50. Turn right onto NC 50 and travel north one mile to the park office/information center, which is on the right just before the bridge.

Traveling east on I-40 toward Raleigh, turn north on I-540 (the outer loop). Travel north on 1-540 to NC 50, and take NC 50 north approximately eight miles to park office/information center, which is on the right just before the bridge.

Traveling south on I-85 toward Durham, turn east on NC 56 and travel to NC 50 at the town of Creedmoor. Turn south on NC 50 and drive approximately eight miles to the park office/information center, which is on the left immediately past the bridge.

Traveling north on I-85 toward Durham, travel through Durham, and take US 70 east toward Raleigh. Turn east on NC 98 and travel toward Wake Forest for approximately eight miles to NC 50. Take NC 50 north for one mile to the park office/information center, which is on the right just before the bridge.

Directions to individual recreation areas

Sandling Beach and Beaverdam are located on NC 50, three miles north of NC 98. The Highway 50 Boat Launch is located on NC 50, two miles north of NC 98. Rollingview is located on Baptist Road. Baptist Road is on NC 98, approximately five miles east of Durham and seven miles west of NC 50.

Shinleaf and Holly Point are located on New Light Road, one and two miles north of NC 98 and one mile east of NC 50.

B.W. Wells is located at the end Bent Road, approximately five miles east of NC 50 and three miles west of US 1/Wake Forest. From NC 98, take Stony Hill Road north and turn left on Bud Morris Road. Turn left on Bent Road and follow it to the recreation area.
