ABOUT THIS SURVEY
This survey is part of a Library of Congress funded research project to develop a set of recommended functionalities for automatic
metadata generation applications. To participate in the survey, you need to:
- Read the remainder of this document
- Click on the link at the bottom of this page to indicate that you have read this document and consent to participate in the Web survey
- Complete the Web survey. The survey has 29 questions, and will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.
PARTICIPANTS
Metadata Creators / Catalogers, Librarians, Web Architects, and other people interested in improving the state-of-the-art metadata tools have important knowledge about metadata creation and we are seeking input from at least 100 people in these areas of work.
BENEFITS TO SOCIETY
Your participation will provide data that will help us to determine how to best incorporate automatic functionalities and improve the state-of-art metadata generation tools.
YOUR RIGHTS
In accordance with University of North Carolina at Chapel Hilll’s policy, and as the principal investigator, I assure you that:
- Your participation in this study is entirely voluntary.
- You are free to refuse to answer any question at any time.
- Your participation will be anonymous if you choose not to answer any of the personal identifying information in the beginning of the survey.
- All personal identifying information will be kept strictly confidential. Surveymonkey’s software has a secure server, and only research team members have access to the survey data. All electronic files with personal identification information will be destroyed after data collection, and hard copies will be kept in a secured locked office space.
- Upon request, you will be given results of the study after they are formulated.
