SILS Wiki Code of Conduct/Ethics

This wiki is in its infancy, and we are thankful to have a caring and invested community willing to rear it into maturity. Although this may be new for many of us, we learn by doing, and for that reason, we offer some suggestions for civil behavior, not laws regulating practice:

• Use the wiki for good, not evil.
• Contributions and corrections are encouraged.
• Wiki entries should be neutral sources of information.
• Use the discussion page to avoid Wiki edit wars.
• Play nice, especially with new folk.
• Confrontational statements will be removed.
• Zero tolerance for the following:
  • vulgarity
  • spam
  • vandalism
  • personal attacks
  • busive comments
  • advertising
  • libel
  • and confrontational speech motivated by gender, race, orientation, or political affiliation.
• Correct mistakes. Don't remove verifiable information.
• Try not to destroy content. Take some time to keep what is still valid when updating an entry.
• We are adults, but adult material is not permitted.
• WikiSquatting: using the wiki as your own personal webspace. Don't do it.
