Getting Started...
Here is a basic to-do list for SILS students interested in particpating in the Field Experience Program
- Attend the orientation seminars (see calendar on main page or list below for dates, time, & location)
- Each student must attend 1 beginning, 1 middle, and 1 end seminar. You may go to any within the groups that you can make due to your schedule.
- Browse the list of potential and past field sites
- You will gain the most from your experience by finding a site that suits your professional interests.
- Register for INLS 795 (299): Professional Field Experience (for graduate students) or INLS 397: Information Science Internship (for undergraduate students).
- Contact
- The site you are interested in for a preliminary outline
- Your SILS faculty advisor for approval
- A faculty member if your academic advisor is unable to supervise your fieldwork
