Choosing a case. Your textbook includes six cases that show the application of concepts we will be studying. You are responsibility for leading a class discussion for one of these cases.

Prepare the case. Consider which of the topics we are studying the case best aligns with. Do a little research on the topic so that you can enhance the material provided in the text and perhaps link a its conseqquences to library and information activities. You may want to prepare a presentation but, if so, keep it brief and concentrate on developing a way to involve the clas. This can be as simple as a discussion triggered by questions you may pose or it can be an activity, a game, a simulation, a debate, a skit, or whatever creative idea you may have relative to the topic.

Coordinate the date with instructor. It would be good to make your presentation close to the date of the related topic. You will have an opportunity to sign up for a date sometime in mid-September when you've had a chance to select a topic. Please schedule 15 minutes with me a week prior to your presentation.

Time Guidelines. You may have about 30 minutes for the presentation and discussion of the case. We can negotiate if you think you will need more than 30 minutes.

Advertise -- Promote. Think about how best to market your presentation to your classmates. It can be as simple as an announcement the week before or you could create a poster, a web page, an email announcement, or ...
