The project is designed to let you use the skills and knowledge from this course to explore a topic of your choosing. Projects will be done in groups of 2-3 and can take different forms. Some examples:

The final projects will be due at the end of the semester, though the instructor may ask for an (informal) interim report/demonstration from time to time.
The deliverables to the instructor for your project include:
Grading will be based on the difficulty of the task chosen, how well you implemented the information system (does it "look" good?, does it accomplish the stated purpose?, is it organized logically?, does it go beyond similar sites already on the Web?, what advanced features/capabilities have you tried to incorporate?) and the quality of your synopsis and documentation. For term papers, (is your thesis interesting? is your survey of the literature complete? do you bring new insights? did you use the hypertext media effectively to enhance your arguments?).
