General Resources Syllabus Who We Are Class Policy Final Projects

Individual Project

The project is designed to let you use the skills and knowledge from this course to explore a topic of your choosing. Individual projects can take different forms. Some examples:

Projects must be approved by the instructor. Getting started on your project early in the semester is a good idea.

Here are examples of previous Web page projects by INLS 110 students.

The final projects will be due at the end of the semester, though the instructor may ask for an (informal) interim report/demonstration from time to time.

Grading will be based on the difficulty of your project, how well you implemented the information system (does it "look" good?, does it accomplish the stated purpose?, is it organized logically?, does it go beyond similar sites already on the Web?, what advanced features/capabilities have you tried to incorporate?) and the quality of your documentation. For term papers, (is your thesis interesting? is your survey of the literature complete? do you bring new insights? did you use the hypertext media effectively to enhance your arguments?).
