1998-2002       CADX: Consultant for workstation and user interface design, for incorporating computer aided detection of breast cancer into digital mammography.

Founded and direct the Biomedical Informatics Research, Service and Training Program in the Carolina Center for Genome Sciences, which is co-sponsored by the Health Sciences library.  I established a training program in conjunction with this, which annually funds a SILS masters students in an internship program in biomedical informatics at the Health Sciences library.

Chairman of the campus Electronic Theses and Dissertation (ETD) committee.  Initiated the effort to develop ETDs at UNC, was appointed chairman of campus ETD committee by the Provost and Graduate School Dean.  Oversaw the development and successful implementation of the ETD program at UNC, with the first electronic theses and dissertations being accepted in the spring of 2006. Developed and teach a new course as part of the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology curriculum for the Carolina Center for Genome Sciences (GNET 211, Information Science for Bioinformatics).  (2003-present).

With Alex Trospha (Pharmacy), Morgan Giddings (BME), and Todd Vision (Biology) initially developed the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (BCB) program at UNC, and created the PhD Certificate in Bioinformatics (earned in conjunction with PhD from existing departments) for the campus.  I have served on the BCB executive committee, and currently serve on the BCB admissions committee.
