CRADLE talk with Jan Reichelt
ASIS&T will sponsor a CRADLE seminar with Jan Reichelt of Mendeley on Friday, May 6th. More details to come.
NCSU Field Trip
On Friday, April 8, ASIS&T sponsored a trip to visit NC State's D.H. Hill Library. Participants toured the library, watched a demonstration of the Technology Sandbox, and participated in a discussion about mobile projects at the Library.
Ernst & Young Brown bag
On Friday, March 25, Daron Woodham from Ernst & Young spoke to students about the wide array of projects and engagements that Ernst & Young as a firm performs, and where information systems specialist fit into those projects. SILS MSIS candidate Rahul Desmukh spoke about his recent experience with Microsoft recruitment.
CRADLE talk with Nora Bird
ASIS&T co-sponsored a CRADLE talk with guest speaker Nora Bird from UNC-Greensboro on Friday, March 4. Nora's teaching and research interests include collections management, information seeking behavior, knowledge acquisition and use, and communication of controversial science. The talk was entitled "Workplace Information Literacy: Its Role in Community and Technical College Libraries."
Wordpress Tutorial
ASIS&T and the Carolina Digital Story Lab presented Wordpress in an Hour, taught by SILS student Elliott Hauser, on 2/14 and 2/15, 2011. Elliott led participants in a Wordpress tutorial resulting in a site that is up and running in one hour.
Introduction to Information Architecture
