Membership in SILSAA is open to all SILS alumni. To join, print the membership form and send it and your dues to the SILS Alumni Association; c/o School of Information and Library Science; University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; CB #3360, 100 Manning Hall; Chapel Hill, NC 27599-3360. Dues are $20 per year or $150 (payable at one time) for a lifetime membership.
Why become a member?
The alumni association exists to build and foster strong on-going relationships between SILS and its alumni. Involvement presents a number of opportunities to "give back" to the SILS community, interact with colleagues, and develop oneself professionally. The activities of the Association include: receptions for our new students in the fall, and for our graduates in the winter and spring; co-sponsorship, with SILS, of alumni reunions at professional meetings throughout the country; sponsorship of mentoring programs and book scholarships to SILS students; and presentation of Distinguished Alumni Awards and Distinguished Service Awards each year. Your personal participation in the events strengthens the SILS community and your financial participation in the Association makes many of the activities possible.
