Who Am I?
|
I received my MLS in 1991 and my PhD in 1998, both from Indiana
University in Bloomington,
IN. I have served as the assistant director
of the Indiana University
Library School
on the South Bend campus, and I
have been a children's librarian in Rhode Island
and in Indiana. Before choosing
this field, I worked as a wildlife rehabilitator, raising injured and orphaned
songbirds in Indiana; as an
outdoor educator, introducing 6th graders to the wonders of the coastal redwood
forest in California; and as a
wildlife biology assistant in the back country of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
I have been a docent for a natural history museum, I have given planetarium
shows, and I have been a storyteller for over twelve years.
I have more interests than I can count. Some of my favorites are reading
children's books, writing children's songs, hiking, scuba diving, and telling folktales from around the world.
